This project is a collaboration South African with mohair textile artist, Frances van Hasselt. This particular collection of tapestries was designed around the idea of 'home'. In her home town of Prince Albert of South Africa's desolate Karoo region, she worked with the residents of Botterblom Street (Butterflower in Afrikaans) to explore what 'home' means to them. Translating these stories visually into mohair artworks, they were then exhibited outside their corresponding homes on Botterblom street with the local residents that shared their visions. The proceeds of the sale of this collection will go towards setting up a workshop for local female artisans.
